Our 3rd assignment was to come up with an idea for a food festival that would have happened in Vanport Oregon. The point of the project was to be able to show multiple ways of using perspective.
In its short history, from 1942 to 1948, Vanport was the nation’s largest wartime housing development, a site for social innovation, a lightning rod for racial prejudice, and the scene of one of Oregon’s major disasters.

Research
Before we started our research, we watched a documentary about Vanport and the flood that happened in 1948. I also used the internet to find different pictures of the flood and what the city looked like. Also, because our assignment had to include a food element along with the 3 different types of perspective used in design, I researched the types of food that might be eaten at a food festival at the time.

critique notes
We did a critique in class, but I never received them. It was suggested to me that I go with the hot dog stand by my instructor, so I went for it!
