My second project in my design course was to make our own interpretations of either Picasso's "Guernica", or Andy Warhol's "Campbell Soup Can". I chose to do "Guernica". The main point of the assignment was to demonstrate our ability to replicate "perspective".
"Guernica" is a large 1937 oil painting on canvas by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. It is one of his best-known works, regarded by many art critics as the most moving and powerful anti-war painting in history. The bombing of Guernica (26 April 1937) was an aerial bombing of the Basque town of Guernica (Gernika in Basque) during the Spanish Civil War.

Research
The majority of my research I did online. There are quite a few other artists that do their own renditions of "Guernica".

During the time that I was doing my research and sketches, I was eating a lot of gummy bears and spending time with a friend who would often sing the song "Teddy Bears Picnic"

critique notes
I decided to use the composition of Guernica but make it my own with Teddy Bears.

The final project "Bearnica (teddy bear's picnic)"
I used a mixed medium of watercolors, a micro-line ink pen, and colored pencils to create my final project. The content relates to my life in many ways. Enjoy!
