2-D Design Class Project #5 Food Truck "Branding"

Our 5th and final project was to design a food truck, along with a cup with a logo, and a menu.

Research

I live near Portland, Oregon and there are food carts on almost every corner so I have a lot of personal experience eating at food carts (especially taco trucks). My son and I did a little bit of research over lunch one day and I found that a lot of these food carts have their menu listed on the front. I also found some pictures on the internet that inspired me.

I was trying to create balance and harmony using 3 letters (E) for the name, and the 3 colors of the French flag. Along with the French motif I chose Elephant Ears as a part of the menu. Elephant ears are call "Palmiers" in France. They look and taste different from the ones in the United States.

Part of the project was to make a logo. I chose an elephant "Emily". I also played around with ideas for the cup and menu. I liked the idea of the logo including colors of the same hue of the French flag.
